International AGM Postponed

Ladies, Gentlemen,

Yesterday the 41 INTERNATIONAL Board and the Italian Convenors decided, due to the world spreading of the coronavirus , to postpone the international AGM of Verona.

It was a very difficult decision to take but we thought that health comes first and this is the moment to stay safe at home with our families.

As soon as possible the treasurer will reimburse all the registrations and cancel the hotel bookings made with Veronabookings and Micaela.

We are working with high priority on the further details and will inform you within the next days. Thank you in advance for your understanding.

Luca Colombo

41 INTERNATIONAL Vicepresident

Oh What A Night .....

Not late September back in 63 but late February 2020. Leap Day to be exact! An excited crowd of 250 had an evening of fun and fellowship at the Joint Presidents' Ball at Crewe Hall in Cheshire.  The evening began with sea shanties provided by the Northwich Folk Club in the reception.  During the main course we were entertained by the prize-winning Roberts Bakery Band which concluded with a fabulous rendition of all of our Last Night of the Proms favourites.  Flags were waved, the sound of spoons on tables rang out accompanying the band and we all sang as loudly as possible.  During the sweet course the two national raffles were drawn and all the winners will be contacted.  The auction then took place and our auctioneer was Mr. Nick Marsh from Northwich.  The auction raised an amazing £5,000 for the joint charity, the RNLI. The meal ended spot on time and we then danced the night away to the sounds of the fabulous Zoots, who played a two hours set straight through as they were enjoying it as much as we were.

2020 National Caravan Rally

Plans are now in place for the 2020 41 Club National Caravan Rally which will take place back in the south of England.

We are returning to Hardwick Parks near Oxford – the venue of the 2017 and 2018 Rally. This is within easy reach of Oxford and many of the glorious Cotswold villages and a popular well-appointed site.

The Rally is from Friday 11th to Sunday 13th September 2020.

This year in order to avoid the inclement weather we will be using the local village hall for our main Saturday night event. The weekend will include a drinks reception and fish & chip supper on Friday, a meal & entertainment on Saturday night, and afternoon tea and cakes on the Sunday.

For those going to the Tangent 50TH Anniversary Lunch that day, Hardwick Parks is only a one-hour journey by car to Birmingham, so both events are feasible to attend that weekend.

Tents are welcome and static caravans are available to hire.

41 International HYM Malta 2019

This year's International HYM (Half Year Meeting) was hosted by Melitta 41 Club who were also celebrating their 10th Charter.  Events were held in several locations across Malta, culminating in a formal ball in the splendour of the Knight's Hall in the Mediterranean Conference Centre in Valletta.  There were over 330 delegates and the largest party of 56 was from GB&I.

Congratulations to Alex Abela and his team for organising an excellent four days of entertainment,

Next year's HYM will be in Transylvania on the 24th to the 27th September.  Organised by Club 41 Romania it will include a party in Dracula's legendary castle .... scary or what?

41 Club & Tangent Cruise 2020

Following on from the success of the last two club cruises and this year's Danube cruise in August we have already selected our cruise for 2020.

Departing from Southampton on the 19th of August this eight-night sailing "Into the Heart of Spain and France" is the first time we have sailed south.

The first port of call takes us directly into beautiful Bordeaux via the gorgeous, size-restricted Gironde and Garonne rivers. Sailing this scenic route in daylight hours will be a memorable experience. An overnight in Bordeaux then on to the elegant Spanish city of Santander, the scenic city of Aviles and finally La Corunna, the capital of Galicia.

The Club deal gives you:

10% discount on the current price (Note that prices may change at any time)
Free group drinks party
£50 onboard spend
Anchor Club members will get their additional discounts (subject to time of booking)
Eight nights of fellowship

We look forward to welcoming new shipmates aboard our very special cruise.

We don't just sit there!

Let's prove it!

Let's show the world that we actually do things!

The internet offers us the opportunity to tell the world that 41 Club is not just a dining club where old men talk about things that were better in their day. It provides the ability to communicate with 'like minded' people, to show others (especially current and ex-Tablers) that we do still participate in activities that may be of interest to them. We have therefore decided to create a range of Special Interest Groups (SIGs) on Facebook that are open to all members of the Four Club Family. You are invited to join them if they interest you or to point your friends to them if you know they are interested. Additionally we will welcome your ideas as to what other groups we can create (golf, walking, cycling, fishing are just a few possibilities).

So let's see some action. The groups / forums already set up are listed in the block on the right. The groups are closed so that you have to request membership and your views, photos etc. will only be shared with like minded members. You will need a Facebook account to join most of these groups. The Bikers Forum is open to all as it is not a closed group.

If you would like to start other groups please send the details to webmaster@41club.org

We will need your name, your Facebook ID, the name of the group and brief details on its aims. We will then set the group up for you, making you the first member and allowing you to invite other Facebook members to join.

So who wants a football group? a rugby group? or even a cake decorating group? It is up to you. It costs nothing and will hopefully encourage other ex members to join 41 Club and Tangent. It may even get some members to start new activities!
